Subject:RE: Polls/Surveys - lets move on
Just to set the record straight ... and right out of the gate here, we should probably all realize that MANY on this group are not US citizens and not subject to the US constitution (COTUS), nor is the Internet as a whole (as much as some would like for it to be) ... the infamous 5th Amendment erroneously referred to actually protects against self-incrimination in the US. The right to freedom of speech is protected under the 1st Amendment in the United States of America. It applies nowhere else on earth, although other nations may have similar laws.
Evidently the US founders believed that self-expression, no matter how inane, is so important that they chose to protect it first, believing that anybody should be free to say anything they choose with impunity (no matter how nonsensical) and that any human of at least average "G-d-given" (their rationale was that all human rights came from G-d ... not a sovereign) intelligence possessed the discernment to sort the wheat from the chaff. We should be able to discern for ourselves that which is valid and important and each, unto oneself, should be able to know instinctively and rationally what to avoid, is illogical, irrational or just downright too good to be true. And thus it is on much of the Internet ... and scams run rampant and fools suffer. Many of us however do not suffer fools at all well, but are frequently just too polite (or apathetic) to apprise them of that fact ... a fact which likely would be lost on them anyway.
Thus the age-old caveat emptor ("let the buyer beware") principle rules the Internet, as well as free-marketplace capitalism, singing to us down through the ages, and again, in harmony, from 1791 (when the Bill of Rights - the first 10 amendments of the COTUS - was adopted ... including the first one guaranteeing free speech) ... and makes possible this day a $2150 US used MOJO on Ebay! http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p3984.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.Xcrumar+mojo&_nkw=crumar+mojo&_sacat=0&_from=R40 http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p3984.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.Xcrumar+mojo&_nkw=crumar+mojo&_sacat=0&_from=R40
You see? I've already moved on past all this and back to clonewheel discussion. Oh, the standard disclaimer, I have nothing to do with this auction ... I would probably have started it at a buck and set my reserve at whatever I needed to get ... still, ain't it a wonderful life?
I trust many here will not consider this post an epic waste of time ... but for those who do, caveat emptor, my good colleagues. Just delete it and move on. If anyone gains enlightenment or a bit of amusement, then hooray ... my existence for another day on this planet is justified. To steal a cliche', for those who understand, no explanation is necessary ... for those who do not, no amount of elucidation will suffice.
Thank you Craig, my Canadian friend, for all you do to set the tone and maintain the standards and dignity for this august forum on a daily basis. Truly, however, the only "pole" my children and I are interested in these days is the one encroaching upon your country's northern border, beyond the NWT and Nunavut!
Peace,
Fox

you further waste the members time by spouting off about the 5th amendment and freedom of speech.
Let's move one. Thank you!
