YES Fox, as you 've pointed out they've essentially done two things with these programs; 1. created the organ and 2. created the presets.. So there's a lot of great sounds and organs in here..

I think both the new leslie sim and C/V are surprisingly good.. the low rotor is beautiful on it and while a lot of people focus on the horn as the critical area, for me I find that a lot of the sims don't have that beautiful sense of low rotor motion which is JUST as important as the horn. On these programs I'm finding that the horn is good and bad depending on which preset you use.. Some are just too warbly for me, so I'm going to have to keep going through these various presets to find the leslie sim that I like the best and investigate to see how it's set up.

High points for me are a number of programs.. Keith Emerson "KE Eruption Split" wow fantastic.. (I'll post a couple clips later).. and the "TM Child Organ" which is Jon Lord's "Sweet Child in Time" percussive organ intro tone.  Some of the new Korg programs are just as good, the "Korg Jimmy Smith" is great and so is "KORG No Disgrace" which really has some balls..  HammondDave has some nice presets as well..  a couple with a 147 leslie that are very nice.. even a combo organ that is nice!

I'm going to post a number of clips on my soundcloud channel.. I'll post some links here later..

Regards,
Craig MacDonald

I agree, Craig ... actually, it's more like having a whole bunch of new different organs, albeit a bevy of single-registration organs.

When I was loading this stuff up, I was sort of wondering "what's the point of all these new organ patches?," as I play the drawbars almost as much as I play the keys ... and was sort of thinking "okay...so these folks have recreated the registrations they used on their greatest hits ...," but NO... they've basically recreated THE ORGANS the registrations were performed on!  The registrations themselves are basically bonus material for those who don't naturally hear the settings.

I haven't had a lot of time to play with the new version yet, but I'm starting to sequence a Christmas show that plays off early next month, so it will be interesting to see how the revised axe integrates everything.

Not owning a vent, I would be interested in thoughts regarding how the "new and improved" sim stacks up.  Personally, I prefer my Burn to what I've heard, but have not had a chance to tweak on the new sim yet.

Thanks for helping beta this thing.  It seems rock-solid!  I'm considering running Kronos out in place of the MOJO this week for a test drive or two...although I would certainly miss my 2nd manual (never could get used to playing split-manual registrations).

Peace,
Fox

Fox, I've just loaded the new OS 2.1 into my Kronos along with the new KRS-06 sound bank and WOW this thing sounds great! I'm really impressed with this new sound bank!!! There's some great programs in there. It's like having a whole new organ..! How are you enjoying yours.. have you had much time with it?? I haven't loaded the firmware either.. I'll probably get to that once I stop playing with all these new programs!! Craig
