No, as has been been pointed out by James the Win 8 Metro interface does support touch screens. I was pointing out that your statement "only a keyboard or mouse are supported by desktop OS's" is not true.

The Ios, Android and Win RT and 8 references were there to highlight the fact that simultaneous operation touch interfaces have been around for a long time now. The fact that many games are available in Windows Store (which provides Apps for both RT and Win 8) that support a touch interface is provided as evidence. Where I am everything bar the cheapest Windows laptops come with touch screens so the hardware and OS are freely available and significantly cheaper in laptop form than non touch screen Macbook Airs. Not so much for Tablets but that is an issue that MS need to address before they can expect to get significant market share.

The issue here is that GSI have chosen not to release a touch screen interface for Windows.

Whether being able to control all of items in the current VB3 GUI is practical on anything less than a 27" screen s another question. But being able to control a subset of frequently used controls such as drawbars could be a real plus to those using controllers that don't have 9 faders for example.

Ideally the VB3 touch screen interface would allow users to select which controls responded to touch in the same way that users can select what items they map to faders, knobs and buttons on a controller.

Similarly VB3 must be one of a handful of current on sale VST's that does not support 64 bit OS's. This means that for users who download MainStage 3 or Logic X VB3 is no longer an option unless they are prepared to buy a third party 32 bit bridge.

The lack of a 64 bit version is not so critical for Windows but for mainstream users it is now dead for OSX users unless they are using a legacy version of MainStage or OSX. Given Mavericks is a free down load the number of legacy users with post 2008 hardware will shrink pretty fast.
