Thanks there is a good review of the VR-09 in this issue of Keyboard Magazine.. (I just got mine in the mail). It was VERY positive and the VR-09 received a "Key Buy" for its price performance!

Note also that messages have been posted on the Roland VR-09 blog that a new set of expansion sounds are being announced today.. However nothing specific has been announced yet. Speculation is that its the Roland Classic Synth Collection, and that would be fantastic!
Don't know of it's free or a chargeable option.
