Craig's VR 09 demo, as basic as it might be, is much more interesting and informative than the lame demos they do at NAMM.

Thanks for the kind words..  the recording of the Beatles "The End" was made by a fan of the band with an old digital recorder who was just sitting in the audience at one of our gigs. He was nice enough to record the performance and send us some MP3's..   Mark Santers is our drummer and he's fantastic..  great feel and he really swings, we feel very lucky to have him.!

BTW there are a few clams in this recording (unfortunately).. we hadn't played it in about 6 weeks and we were all a little rusty..

If you want to hear a few more recordings of the band I have a youtube page as well.. I think this is the link:

There are a few better recordings there.. cool tunes like Green Eyed Lady, Hush, Frankenstein etc..

Regarding the VR-09, if you're looking for an inexpensive drawbar organ the VR-09 is a real steal at $999 BUT it does NOT have waterfall keys (too bad).. the issues with the VR-09 at this point are really in the area of splits and layers, where you can't separate the expression control on different parts and the effects are a little quirky.  But as far as a drawbar organ goes it's a real deal (I understand that they're selling pretty well and I'm not surprised).

I'm going to use the VR-09 tomorrow night at a performance instead of my Mojo to see how it sounds in the mix with the band.. (although I'll be using it with the Ventilator).

The strings I used in "The End" recording are from the Kronos.

Thanks

Craig

Classic Rock
11STEPS Live at the Tara Inn - Beatles "The End" medle

What a kick drum player eh ?

 Amazing dry 60ish live recording

Love that Santanesque clip sounding like Gregg Rolie .

Let me say that you' have done more for undestanding the pros of VR-09 far better
than all other clips out there even those done at NAMM time.

I've discarded this one size-fits all keyboard until I heard again your word of praise
and SoundonCloud tracks.

Thanks for sharing your audio clips !

Where Beatle's  The End clip string sound come from ?  nice, not so artificial as other samples.

Bare curiousity

TIA

Rafael

Mike, yes I have a VR-09 and its a great little package! The Leslie sim is actually surprisingly good, but if you're a fan of the ventilator you want to choose the type 2 internal sim, it's very similar to the vent, nice and warm, nice animation.

If you want to hear the VR-09 through a ventilator, along with various other VR-09 sounds, go to my soundcloud page I have posted a few clips of the VR-09 and there one of which is called "VR-09 plus ventilator" .

The VR-09 sounds surprisingly good, and that's coming from a Guy who always disliked the Roland VK organ engine, and through the ventilator it kills! Here's the link?.

Let me know what you think!
