Craig Thanks so much for the tour thru your noodling ..that was nice and the VR-09
YOU'RE WELCOME!
sounds real good with VENT I must say yes ..Thanks again for making your noodlings avail
for all to hear ...

ventilator you want to choose the type 2 internal sim, it's very similar to the vent, nice and warm, nice animation.

So the VR-09 when using the Rotary Sim ..has more than one setting ??? I down loaded the owners manual ..but could not find that setting or that edit ...what page is that on ??
PAGE 43 IN THE OWNERS MANUAL, BUT THERE ARE ACTUALLY 3 DIFFERENT LESLIE EFFECTS:
TYPE 1 - EMPHASIZES THE TREBLE HORN
TYPE 2 - EMPHASIZES THE BASS ROTOR (THINK OF TYPE 1 AND 2 AS SORT OF A BALANCE CONTROL BETWEEN THE UPPER HORN AND BASS ROTOR MICS)
TWIN ROTARY - WHICH SIMULATES TWIN LESLIES (THIS IS IN THE MFX SECTION AND I'M NOT SURE IF I LIKE IT OR NOT)
FYI, ON THE INTERNAL SIM THE SLOW AND FAST SPEED CONTROLS CAN BE SET TO ZERO/STOPPED SO YOU CAN SIMULATE A SINGLE SPEED LESLIE OR EFFECTIVELY TURN THE BASS ROTOR OFF COMPLETELY AND ONLY HAVE THE TREBLE HORN TURNING
another question ...
I am presently using a Vent with my Nord E3 ..and I wire my E3 w/Vent the Piano/Tranny organs in the Right Channel straight to my QSC K12 and tonewheel organ on the left channel to VENT and then to QSC K12 ...
UNFORTUNATELY YOU CAN'T DO THAT
Can the V-Combo VR-09 be wired the same way ? Do you know ? I spose if not ..I could hit bypass
when playing Pianos on the VR-09 ??
YOUR ONLY SOLUTION HERE IS TO HIT THE BYPASS WHEN USING PIANOS OR OTHER NON-ORGAN SOUNDS
The Nord is probably unique in its output routing ...I have never encountered another keyboard that
has a similar multiple type of output routing onboard .......
thanks also to Hammondave for the note on the keybed ....being a hammond player for so long ..it has
not always been easy to adjust to keyboard different than a real Hammond ..and yes i will play before buying ...
HAMMONDDAVE HAS BEEN VERY CRITICAL OF THE VR-09, I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE KEYBED OR THE BUILD QUALITY OF A NUMBER OF THINGS THAT HE HAS CRITICIZED. IT IS A STANDARD DIVING BOARD STYLE KEYBOARD THAT YOU SEE ON ANY LOW END SYNTH, BUT IT DOESN'T FEEL CHEAP TO ME, AND IF ANYTHING IT'S A TAD STIFF FOR MY LIKING.. HOWEVER IT HAS A "QUICK TRIGGER" POINT FOR ORGANS (I THINK ROLAND LEARNED FROM HAMMONDS PROBLEM WITH USING THE LOW TRIGGER POINT ON ITS SK SERIES)
thanx
YOU'RE WELCOME!
Mike

Mike just a clarification about the VR-09 plus vent clip....
I'm just noodling around with different drawbar registrations and a lot of held chords (and some sloppy notes) just to hear the ventilator leslie effect.. at about the 1:50 mark I boost up the VR-09 internal overdrive and you can hear how grungy it sounds. Some might like this, and I don't particulary, however before I come to a final conclusion on the VR-09's overdrive I'll want to hear it in a band setting.. some OD's sound crappy when playing solo but they sit nicely in a band setting..
Someone asked to hear the vent at max slow speed, so at 2:20 you'll hear the vent at max slow, and at 3:02 you'll hear the Vent at max fast speed, then it's returned to normal.. At 3:30 I turn up the Ventilator overdrive and you can hear that really nice warm crunchy ventilator overdrive, in contrast with the VR-09's internal OD at 1:50.
