These are the classic symptoms of connectors not seated well. I had the
exact same behavior from my BX3 one time. If you are handy, take the
CX-3 apart until the main boards are visible. Disconnect *every*
connector, then put it right back where it was a moment before. I'm
pretty sure that I could steer you closer to the real culprit, but if
one of the connectors is acting up, others may not be far behind.
If you can't do it yourself, a tech should be willing to do it for an
hour or less of tech time, IMHO. Unfortunately, it's kind of like
'scheduled maintenance' on a CX-3 or BX-3 that is more than 5-6 years
old, especially if it's been gigged a lot.
