Subject:Re: Rack mount the Ventilator
Hi erik,
I think you have me confused with the OP (whoever that is/was). I was not wanting to rack mount the vent or anything else and just expressing my opinion about the risk of screwing with tearing into an otherwise functional device.
But, relating to the subject of rack mounting the Vent I have another personal opinion which is: After you tweak your Leslie simulator to your own taste, I personally don't see the reason to adjust it much, especially in the middle of a gig. Now I only have a VK-7 and a VB3 that I have tweaked and after I got the sound I liked, I forgot about it. My Leslie 145 is even less "tweakable" and I'm happy with that.
Not actually owning/using one (a Vent) I may obviously be missing something, but the only thing control wise much different about the vent (compared to VK-7 and VB3) appears to be the overdrive so I guess that could vary from song to song but from what I understand, you can also control the OD with the level sent into the vent.
In any case, I think I've exhausted all my opinions on the subject so good luck to all you guys racking up your vents.
Cheers,
Rock
