Subject:Signal path question....

Hi to all. What are the pro/cons to running my Speakeasy Pre-Amp before the Vent? Seems having the Vent last,then into my mixer,really becomes noisy.Also, it seems I have to adjust my gain level to high to get the Vent distortion. It's a Stage EX. Thx!!!
