The Ventilator emulates a mic'ed Leslie. It will not perfectly recreate
a 'room' Leslie, because it doesn't throw the sound around the room.
The MS gear will throw the sound around, at a cost of some timbre
realism, IMHO.

Adding stereo, though does improve the Vent's illusion, especially if
the speakers are *not* placed too far apart. This is somewhat
counter-intuitive in stereo setups, but think about it: the Ventilator
is simulating two mics on a real Leslie's horn, and one on the drum.
All of the 'classic' Leslies (122, 21H, 145, 44W, etc. are either 28"
or 29" wide. In any setup except isolated recording in a studio, those
two horn mics are going to be at most 3 feet (1,1m) apart, probably less
than that if mic'ed through the large opening.

I have a custom stage rig that places two 12" coaxial speakers about 17"
(0,4m) apart, center-to-center. While this is a little less than ideal
-- to promote the portability of one cabinet that can be easily moved --
it places both the woofer and tweeter about the same distance apart as
when I mic my LowBoy From Hell with SM57s on a gig. I also have a
practice rig that consists of two Prodipe Pro 8 Ribbon powered monitors,
stacked one on top of the other. The distance between the woofers (and
tweeters) is roughly 16" there, too (albeit, vertically).

Expanding the stereo field more than say, 30" (0,75m) only makes sense
if one is also willing to set the Distance control on the Vent to
something greater than 2:00.
