Subject:Re: VB# stuck notes in MS
The least amount of delay I cold get with the XLR piano plug-in was 64 at 10 MS and the CPU meter in MS was pegged in the red.
The VB3 had the same delay but is not nearly the CPU hog the XLR piano is.
I did find, and read in the VB3 literature, that it's best not to try to do two things at the same time.
ie, don't switch the Leslie sim, do a gliss and hit the volume pedal all at the same time. You're asking for a real disaster if you do that.
Kidding me right?
That kills it then if I have to always be careful of what button or particular phrase I'm messing with.
Although I have some good things to say about VB3, this is still another instance where the thing did not measure up to my needs and expectations.
Now, if I can get someone to reply re: the velocity scaling on the new NE 4D I'm probably headed in that direction.
Not that this is anyone's fault but I was in a mess for the three gigs I did in MX.
I had a borrowed P-150 Yamaha as a controller. I never got the FC7 to control volume as programmed in MS. At one point the entire concert I had programmed in MS simply quite working properly. there was some kind of weird split that found it's way into the scheme of things and nothing below C5 worked.
I'd closed and opened several times. Tried other patches. Nada.
It's quite possible that I punched something in the heat of the moment and while I'm supposed to be playing I looking at the MS screen scratching my head.
NEVER again.
I'm one of the few who can't seem to catch a break with the live soft synth stuff.
It works at home like a champ but it's a real hassle in a live situation and I'm not throwing any more money at shit that is as psychotic as this last week was.
Oh well,
