Subject:Leslie Speaker opinions
Hello list,
Here is my situation. I currently have a 145 original leslie speaker that sounds terrific, completely stock. I also have a 147 that has been bi-amped and the cabinet I have had sprayed with bed-liner spray for touring. It is also a great leslie but I feel like I prefer the tone of the stock now in my life as opposed to the volume I get from the 147.
So here is my question. Should I keep the 147 and change it back to stock, keeping it in the same cabinet or should I sell it and take the money I could make and buy another 145?
Something that appeals to me is having two matching leslies. Right now I have a 145 and a 147. Does anyone else have two different sizes and is there an advantage to that at all.
Lastly I have a friend who has a short cabinet (45) that I gave him a while ago. I could suggest trading him the taller 147 cabinet for the shorter and put the guts into the smaller cabinet if he would agree. The plan still being to change back to stock.
What would you do?
