Subject:Percussion Volume Adjustment for Numa Organ !

Attention Numa Organ Owners ( and everybody else).

I got an e mail from Carlo Maffei at Studiologic informing me that a
software program has been developed to allow the Numa organ to have adjustable
percussion volume - "on the fly" so to speak.

The adjustment will be enabled by pressing the transpose buttons allowing
them to flash. You then will be able to adjust the percussion volume using
the 9th drawbar.The degrees of percussion volume will be somewhat infinite (
to a point obviously), and not regulated by numerical degrees etc.

I believe that this is a major improvement for the Numa. I have always
felt that the percussion volume was actually a bit loud - especially on slow
decay 3rd harmonic. I also would like the ability increase or decrease 2nd
harmonic volume. No longer should we be at the mercy of shrill P.A. speakers.
Now we can adjust the percussion volume.

Carlo informed me that this software upgrade should be completed by the end
of this week.

I have always thought that the real key to getting the Numa to sound its
best was to be able to switch the organ model to the Key B A 100, and to be
able to adjust percussion volume. It looks like we will be able to have both
soon.

The Numa is still to me the best single manual clone option out there, and
it looks like it has just gotten better.

By the way the percussion volume feature was my suggestion ( I spoke to
Carlo about this at NAMM), and Studiologic listened enough to take it
seriously.

It's nice feeling to know that you can have an influence on a fairly major
product !
