Looks like the sk1 without the extra sounds......I liked the sk1 Hammond sound but thought the extra sounds were weak...which made the sk1 overpriced.  I'd love to have just the organ part of the sk1 and this looks like the solution. On sale you could probably pick this up for around $1250.

This does look like an interesting piece... but I'm not sure why you say it's a typical knee-jerk reaction from a company coming late to the

dance. Hammond has been making portable organs and introducing new

models for years now.

Hi all,

Just saw this new product in the latest digital newsletter edition from keyboard magazine just a few minutes ago. My first impression was the typical knee-jerk action from one corporation coming a little late to the dance. I suspect this one will be cause of much discussion going forward. I know many of you like many elements of the SK1 so will this less expensive stripped down version be able to reproduce the sounds of the SK1? All this competition is great for guys and girls like us who don't want to break the bank account and our fragile backs. Time will tell if this is a hit or miss. I look forward to the lively discussion once this new keyboard is released to the public. I am sure there will be some youtube videos, but you really can't judge this board until you play and hear it in person.

David
