Was not my intention to hector or lecture!!
We are both on the same page re a back up board. I thought the VR-09 may be an option but if Bruce W is correct with his guess about Roland not providing full midi out then it would be a deal breaker for me. I have mapped most of the controls on my M-Audio to move through patches and adjust various VB3 (and ES24, V Combo VST's) parameters in addition to drawbars, e.g. OD on/off, OD rotary control, CV to allow me to vary these for different PA's, room variations etc. I already have a WK7500 as a back up option but it doesn't do full midi out so it will be going when I a find another affordable option that does full midi out. For an important gig I leave it in the car - we can alter the setlist and do songs without keys and set it up in the next break if necessary and this hasn't happened yet. I have considered a XW-P1 which does full midi out but they are $800 in my neck of the woods which is a joke compared to US pricing.
