Yeah, when HS came out with the 'New B3', I figured Fender was onto
something with their 'Road Worn' series. I offered (for a nominal fee)
to take anyone's 'New B3' for one month so I could give it an authentic
'Road Worn' finish. I guaranteed to: leave lots of bottle and glass
rings on the top, make sure an appropriate amount of beer was spilled
between the keys, haul it up and down narrow stairwells making sure it
crashed into the cinder-block walls at least twice for every floor,
leave cigarettes burning on the finish and at least six of the keys,
topple it out of a U-Haul trailer at least 3 times, blow lots of
cigarette smoke into it, invite one aged rock 'n roller to pound on it
playing 'Smoke On the Water' until at least 10 keys cracked, and leave
it in a basement club that would be flooded with enough water and sewage
to submerge the pedals for one week...
