I think i would agree with J a ...on the price .....and if in good shape .good running shape ...maybe $1500 tops ...I do not think she will get $2k for a C3 ....
In My own opinion ..I think the C3 ..is the nicest looking cabinet of them all ....IMHO...I love the C 3
wish i had another now ...if wishes were fishes ...lol
One of the happiest days of my life ..was my first Hammond a C3 in...1970...

If you know someone who knows about old Hammonds have them take a look at it. Someone with some knowledge about them can tell quite a bit in a short period of time. If you don't really know much about them you're not going to get that kind of knowledge by reading a few sentences on here. However, here's a link to a site that tells a few things about "test driving" a used B3... same would apply to a C3 since they are the same organs just with different cabinets:

Just my opinion, but $2,000 for a C3 with no Leslie is pretty steep buying from a private owner, even if it was in great shape. I'd seriously try to get her down to between $500-1,000. Just my opinion.

Greetings!
I have an opportunity to purchase a Hammond C3 (1956, original owner) for about 2K. Her original asking price as 3K and brought it down to $2500. Since then, the couple is moving and need the money for the movers. So, she now brought it down to $2k.
Since I am NOT an organist, but love to dabble (have a CX3 and Vent),
what do I check for to make sure this thing is in great playing/running condition? I believe there is no leslie, just the tone cab.
Help!!
Thx.
Ben
