Norm, great band..!! and the VR-760 sounds OK.. that said, personally I really don't like the VK engine.. the tone is missing the "bite", "crunchiness", and "body" of a real Hammond and it just sounds a bit rinky dinky to me.. But hey.. if the organ in the sounds $999 VR-09 sounds like this or a bit better then it's still a great deal.

I do think that the VR-09 will likely sound better than this because I think your VR 760 combo was based on the VK7, whereas the VR-700 was based on the VK8 (but don't quote me this it's just a guess) and this new "supernatural" organ likely has a few additional tweaks as well as a brand new leslie sim.. so I'm optimistic that the hammond tones on this new organ will be better..

One other thing that VR-09 has is a Ring Modulator, and for guys like myself who play the Deep Purple stuff, I could see this helping me to get some interesting Jon Lord ring modulator/marshall stack effects. Could be very interesting!!
