Making an assumption here (based on Roland website - uses an additional midi keyboard for lower manual)
Use the 2nd keyboard as a lower manual, while splitting the VR-09 into upper organ manual & piano or synth. Further set the split at lowest or highest C for the organ (or leave the highest octave for screaming solos) & use the other notes for your piano, etc.
I've done this with older entry level arrangers midi'ed together & the results can be very very versatile.

This is where a 76 note keyboard could be a benefit - if you only need a couple of octaves for the secondary voice.
