I have never had similar problem when I studied pipe organ and played
pedal keyboard every day.

But after some small injury of knee 17 years ago I have sometimes
problem with ligaments (not meniscus), caused by bringing heavy things
- usually after a gig where I bring instruments and lift heavy active
boxes to stands. But after few days of pain it's again OK.

In any case you should visit a specialist. It's possible your problem
was triggered by unusual work. I know well how unpleasant it is and
wish you quick recovery.
