Subject:Re: Re Vent Question
When I think of having lots of options I think of not-so-fond memories of the Roland VK-7 and even the XB-2. These machines had lots of parameters - the Roland in particular - to adjust everything possible, but nothing was ever quite right. Most seem to agree that the Vent' is a great unit. My cheeky last line was a suggestion that adding more options might dilute its focus and greatness, but if they can be incorporated without detracting from bring it on!
I get the impression that the level of acoustic modelling expertise and DSP programming expertise embodied in the Vent' is still quite rare, and it is only now after almost 60 years after the B-3 emerged that digital clones are starting to really nail the sound, and before the Vent' the best thing was the Boss RT20, so we might have to be patient!
