Didn't Avid own ProTools? Or maybe it still does... and it used to push M-Audio interfaces with it if I remember correctly.

I hate to say it, but ... when Avid Technologies divested several of
their brands this year, and M-Audio went to InMusic, this was exactly
the concern that was voiced on this forum and elsewhere. InMusic also
owns Akai Professional, Alesis, Ion Audio, and Numark, to name just a
few. Given how many lines they have, I'm not surprised that some of the
older products are being dropped. It appears that InMusic has a new
Axiom (Gen III?). I've noticed more and more 'obsolete' product
available in tandem with the latest offerings these days.

Have you tried contacting Avid about parts? They were the actual
manufacture of the Gen II, and might at least have a contact for parts.
