In Jacks defense, I recall someone saying they got a real deal on a new Numa and it was around the $1000 US mark from one of the major on-line stores (I can't recall if it was here or on another list/forum I belong to).. I also recall it being described as new but "b-stock"... however I'm old and my memory is getting worse so I could be completely wrong.. anyway, I believe that Jack is correct when he says that Numas have been available at that $1000 mark.

However, the question at hand is whether or not a used XK1 is worth $1000.. I recall one of our other members, I think it was Shawn, posted his used NUMA on here for that same price recently, and I have to say that if I had to choose between an XK1 and a NUMA for $1000 I would take the Numa in a second. The sound and playability of the NUMA is right up there with the newest crop of Mojo, C2, SK, KeyB etc... some might argue this, but it's very close.. great leslie sim, great interface, great feel and great sound. It's far superior to the XK1.

BTW it doesn't really matter what an XK1 sells for on eBay, it may have sold to someone who has no idea of the value and just saw the Hammond name.

I'm not trying to make a big deal out of this, because I know how it feels to post something for sale and have someone crucify you for asking too much (I posted a mint hammond BV and 122 on a couple of forums for $2200 and was adamantly told that I was asking way too much which really pissed me off)..

However, regarding the price, in all seriousness... when I looked at an XK1 (around 6-7 years ago) I think the price was $1699 brand new, or thereabouts.. last time I looked at the XK1 at Sweetwater, I think it was $1499.. so we're talking about a product that is 7+ year old technology (and a lot has happened in the last 7 years).. and even if it's in perfect shape, asking 2/3's of it's new selling price is way too much. To be fair $1000 is an asking price, but I think you're going to get a lot more interest if you ask $800 and you should be prepared to take $750. THAT's a fair price for an XK1 in my opinon.

Don't bother responding with "shutup and mind your own business".. I have already asked myself several times why I'm sticking my nose into this.. I'm just trying to help out brother Jack.
