Man I wish that were true! Joey started on Organ, then messed with horn ( and is quite good at it!), I started with horn, then went to guitar until I got introduced to a hammond. Bebop is definitely not second nature to me! I have to work hard to get it, what little I do. And then it comes a lot easier on organ than horn for me. I doubt bebop is second nature to anyone! Tough music to learn! But then the originators of it made it that way on purpose. I really think the fact that this guy was hanging in jazz clubs as a kid, and had a father that was exposing him to this stuff early had more to do with it than his being a horn player. But yes, he is a fantastic bass player too, something I've always admired in organists but never been able to do myself. Takes a lot of work, not second nature!
