Subject:Re: SK-1 or Electro 3?
For your situation, probably the SK1, but either is a safe choice. There are plusses and minuses to each, and here the plusses seem to favor the SK1 for you.
--The organ sound is better on the SK1, and the drawbars are important for someone with an organ focus. You can get the Ocean Beach drawbars for the Nord, but it's more $ and setup time.
--Although you already have a Vent, the SK1 leslie is good enough (and tweakable enough) that you may or may not find the Vent necessary. If you use a lot of drive, that's where the Vent will really add something. But in theory, you could possibly unload the Vent with the SK1 and save some $ and setup. The Nord needs the Vent.
--The SK1 is amazingly small and lightweight. The Nord isn't bad though either.
--IMO, the extra sounds on the SK1 are not as good as the Nord. I'm going to go against popular opinion and say that's true even for the clav sample (I own 2 D6's). However, the clav, rhodes, wurlitzer, and acoustic piano are all definitely good enough to gig with. And there are lots of misc sounds on the SK1 that I don't use but that seem pretty good.
--The Nord interface is IMO a bit more intuitive, but the SK1 interface isn't overwhelming and the tradeoff is that you get more tweakability on the SK1.
Personally, I have both and am keeping the NE3, but I'm more of a 25% organ person. And even then, to get the organ on par with the SK1 I use the Ocean Beach drawbars and a Vent.
For your situation, the SK1 seems to be the better option, but as I said above either will probably get you where you want to be. And, not to spam you, if you do end up looking for an SK1 I'm selling mine - feel free to email me if you're interested or if you have any other questions about how they compare.
