What are you using as a sequencer? If it is a computer can you connect the expression pedal to the M3 and have it send expression data (and probably everything else) to the computer? Use something like MIDIOX or SoundQuest's MIDI Tools MIDI Mapper to filter out everything but the expression data and send that to the SK-1? Maybe the sequencer software already can do it.

I think the Music player/audio files would give you more options and flexibility but this would allow you to just set the SK-1 to MIDI expression control and be done.
