Subject:Re: Problem with SK2 thru Vent
Leo, I can't speak for Bruce, but I went back and reread the posts, I think it was more Craig and I, and what I agreed with Craig on was the fact that the CX3's are still very usable with the addition of a vent. I just got the SK, unhooked the CX3 and put it "away" for a few weeks while I used the SK. THen partly out of curiosity, partly because I had an important gig coming up where I didn't want to get lost in a world of menu's I wasn't yet familiar with, I got it back out. I was really surprised at how good it sounded, and how much more it cut through than the SK did. For that particular gig, I ended up using the SK for pianos and the CX3 for organ. If I was going to guess about the future, I'd say I'll end up dialing the SK in and it'll end up better than the Korg. But if I didn't need the extra voices, and the smaller size for certain gigs, and was just going organ, I'd be content with the Korg. But that's for live, recording's a whole other thing. Bottom line is we're all different, and I love the sound of the Korgs. I know guys that hate the korgs as much as I hate farfisa's. Then there are guys that love and still gig with farfisa's. Taste just doesn't make sense!
