Bruce W., not sure if was you or another Bruce, but are you of the opinion that a CX3 thru a vent would give many of the newer clones (SK1, Numa) a run for the (lot less) money, especially if one already has a CX3?

Hi Bruce,

First question: What was the Overdrive LED doing? It should almost
NEVER come on; if it's lighting more than 1x per 3-4 sec., you likely
have the signal very high. The sound of the digital (clipping)
distortion of the Vent -- when the signal level is so high that it's
overloading the DSP -- is terrible, and that's being kind.

You want all the growl to come from the Vent, not the SK2's internal
overdrive, or any boost pedal. If you need a Steve Winwood kind of
grind, push the Hi/Lo gain switch in, and you'll have lots of it. But I
can go from the clean sound of say, 3DN's 'Easy to Be Hard' to the growl
of Santana's 'Samba Pa Ti' in the Lo position (out), with just the Drive
knob and a little more Gain from my NE3.

If your Overdrive LED isn't on, one of two things could be wrong: 1)
the LED could be broken; or 2) the Vent could have a problem. Give me a
call at the number below, and I'll be happy to both demo mine, and see
if we can see what's up on your end.

Regards,
