Subject:Re: Problem with SK2 thru Vent

Thanks for the help, everybody! With so many satisfied Vent users in this
group there HAS to be a rational explanation for this.

Unfortunately the instrument is packed and loaded for tomorrow's gig
already so I can't experiment right now. However...

I do know that the SK2 internal Leslie sim was definitely in bypass mode,
and the SK2 OD effect was definitely turned off. I followed the
manufacturer instructions for setting the level - turning up the source
signal until the clip light flashes and then backing it off until it no
longer flashes. I was pretty conservative with the level, backing it off a
bit more in favor of headroom. Also, the unit was sold to me as new by
Sweetwater.

So is the SK2's amp sim independent of its internal Leslie sim? i.e., do I
have to shut that off elsewhere in the menu structure even if I've bypassed
the internal Leslie sim? As was suggested, compounding preamps would
certainly degrade the signal.

Bruce W, I may take you up on your generous call offer if I'm no joy after
tomorrow's gig (1-4pm at BBC in Framingham if you're out and about).

Many thanks all.

Bruce M.
