Subject:Re: Crumar support!
Well, to begin with, the unit was damaged in shipping. The ends of the carton were blown out, like it had been dropped on end. There were some noticeable dings in the wooden end pieces. Personally, I think they should ship it in something stronger than the soft case in a heavy duty cardboard box, but Andrea said they had never had a problem with DHL before, and were okay with their shipping method. I noted the box damage with the clerk when I picked up the unit, and took pictures right away as soon as I opened it up, and sent them to Crumar. (Fortunately, there was no internal damage, which I consider a testament to the build quality of the Mojo.) Andrea was on it, took care of it with DHL, and sent me replacement wooden end pieces in a timely fashion. Now, true confession time - although he says the end pieces are easy to install, I haven't done it yet. Part of it is laziness, but part of me wants to hold on to the pristine new wood pieces and put them on IF I decide to sell it down the road. So far, I've learned to live with the dings, but I may change my mind. (This is why I never buy a new car.)
The other issue is noise and signal breakup when the expression pedal is at its lowest position. Andrea thought the pot is probably faulty, and is sending a replacement pedal, but I've found that the Yamaha FC7 works well, and I'm using that for the time being.
