Subject:Re: cheapest 61key midi controller board with full size waterfall keys
OP here - update and more questions.
Thanks for all the ideas. I'm pursuing some
avenues on the keyboard front but in the meantime I've
cobbled together a Frankenstein clonewheel by stacking
two, count 'em, two Yam stage pianos majestically into
the sky. Horrible ergonomics as being as thick as a
whale omelette it's a bad reach manual a manual.
FYI I'm using a midisport 2x2 in standalone mode
(no computer but powered by a usb charger) for the merge
function into a Nord Electro 2 Rack. Output is to a small
mixer (to accommodate playalong with Android tablet based
video tuition of various kinds) and thence to a pair of near field studio monitors.
It may be unique in that it's less portable than a real B3,
but it allows practice to occur.
It works kind of ok except the midisport gets quite confused
at times.
My immediate questions are:
1. On a real B3 if one sets the lower manual to 808 or
848 and then plays the lowest white octave, what happens?
Isn't there some kind of repeat of the octave directly above?
2. Does anyone have any experience with the Nord Electro 2 Rack
as to being more faithful to the B3 behavior? The user manual
eludes me on this point.
Regards, and thanks again for all the 61 key help.
