Do you really think some different velocity curve can have any effect
on tonewheel clone which doesn't need to use velocity data at all?
I have never heard about MIDI booster :-)
As MIDI is a standard, differences can't be so big among manufacturers
concerning what is sent from the keyboard. If there are some
differences they can be found on the side of tone generator - like
velocity data range (famous problem with the old DX7), or velocity
curves. Usually it can be set directly in the instrument.
Of course there are differences in the touch itself, escapement, speed
of repetition, point of the trigger, aftertouch...
