Subject:RE: Ipad music applications..
Norm here's my take on the Ipad.I bought one because I thought man this
would be a great take along MIDI file player "right?" Nope doesn't import
MIDI files.major disappointment for me at least, however I will say for
$5.00 it's really a killer deal. 8 tracks, built in stomp boxes for guitars
basses etc., a sampler, a drum machine, drummer, bass player, keyboard
player(you won't need this one for sure), a string section, guitar player,
really cool for the money. A lot of the previously mentioned are made for
beginners but could be put to good use by pros as well. I haven't quite
figured out how to add additional loops/samples but I've heard its
possible.??? The keyboard sounds are pretty good as well, the B3 isn't too
bad, neither are the pianos(acoustic, Rhodes, Wurly) you do get to add
effects to these as well. If you get it I would recommend getting an Alesis
I/O dock lots of I/O options for whatever you want to do. Really a steal for
$5.00 despite some of its quirkiness.I pulled the plug today on a refurb
MacBook Pro I'm really excited about that I've been a PC user for years I
thought I'd see what all the fuss is about with Logic and Mainstage.I also
have the Fairlight app which is way cool never thought I'd own a
Fairlight!!! I also have a new PPG waveterm synth I bought but haven't spent
much time with, and a drum machine app called Funkbox which has all the
classic drum machines from the 80's .What can I say I like my gadgets.I use
these gizmos more for instruments than the social engineering stuff.
Cheers,
Brian In Ohio

Subject: [CWSG] Ipad music applications..
I am planning on getting an iPad 2 real soon.
Any thoughts on Garageband sounds for running a small portable keyboard rig
using an Axiom 61...
Other applications?
Drummer I play with uses his to control his monitor mix in stage...
Thanx
Norm
