Brian you and your Dad, are on the money. The iPhone like it or not is another brainwashing tool. I have a son your age and he, an architect from a think tank school in LA, notices the same thing as he has an iPhone, he claims he can't keep his hands off of it but is also aware of the social engineering going on. I have another son about your daughter's age, can't keep his face out of his Blackberry but he won't listen about the mind control going on with the device. My architect son laments about the younger generation who were the first to grow up with computers, that all they have is their smart phones as their identity. I guess coming from someone his/your age, that is a valid observation. It is an addiction. The richest people on the planet do not use cel phones if thats any indication. I try not to use mine for talking at least or use headphones to get the phone away from the head, don't carry it on my person or leave it close to me, have avoided buying an iPhone/smart phone and have hung onto my older tech cel phone as long as possible. I don't use wifi either as my head hurts when I'm next to a router that has it on. I'm sure there will be more rolling eyeballs..

I'm 39 and my dad has played music since the 60's in various bands over the
years(he's pretty much got the same theory about destroying the middle class
and that it's been going on for a long time) and I have seen exactly what
you're talking about.I have two daughters one that's 21 and another that
will soon be 13 and to see what they're spoon fed through media, etc. is
really disturbing. I think my 21 year old is beyond repair she's an IPhone
addict and I do mean addict. It's her entire life in the palm of her hand I
think she would damn near kill someone if they tried to take her phone. I'm
trying to keep my youngest away from a cell phone as long as possible. I
guess the part that is so upsetting is that I think it's gone on for so long
I don't think we can stop it.
