I find David's view of things always interesting. His music alone are mini novels and lucky for us he had accompanying videos. He also takes trips incognito to 3rd world countries to study their history and governments while moving around on a bike. A true talking head with informative viewpoints.

With so many distractions, and the cultural fact that video killed the radio star, moving pictures now occupy our time. However in a reverse trend, audio devices are getting smaller, while video devices are getting larger and more dimensional.

David Byrne (of Talking Heads) in his recent book - How Music Works - makes a similar point in a broader context, how music has gone from being a participatory form of entertainment in 1900 (someone played and everyone joined in the singing in the parlor) to a passive personal form today, with most music listened to being low resolution 128k mp3's heard through ear buds.
