Subject:Re: cheapest 61key midi controller board with full size waterfall keys
The VMK161 organ controller does NOT have the same keyboard as the C2 and other controllers.. It may have the same keybed (meaning the underlying mechanism), but the keys themselves are very different and I would NOT recommend it (my opinon of course). Rather than having a nice shiny surface, the black keys have an odd rough finish to them and if I recall correctly they also have a sharper edge than traditional organ style keys.. They feel very odd when played and slurring off them is weird. I do not like this keyboard, and I would strongly recommend that people pass on it.
Just my opinon of course, but the suggestion that this keyboard is the same as the Mojo and C2 and others is absolutely incorrect. The keybed may be the same but the keys themselves are not the same. There are a number of reasons why this keyboard has not sold well.. buggy, and odd keys..
Have any of you guys who are recommending this keyboard actually touched it and played with it? I played with it for 15 minutes or so in the music store I worked in, and that's all it took for me to conclude that it was the worst organ style keyboard I had ever played. I never touched it again!

There are two versions of this keyboard:
The "VMK161 plus" has a 61 note graded hammer action (TP40GH), essentially
the same as in the Nord Stage and Nord Piano and various other keyboards.
The "VMK161 organ plus" has a 61 note waterfall action (TP8O) which is the
same as the Nord Electro/C2 and loads of other controllers
