The tonal difference a Hammond from any clone makes in the mix adds more than the minutiae, from the audiences perspective, of which clone it is - even in a stripped back jazz organ trio, unless someone like Dr Lonnie Smith happened to be there. As you say it is the chops that matter most, what they are played on comes a distant second.
