The SK1 also has the better clavinets, and if you are into that kind of thing, the SK1 has a superlative Arp String Ensemble/Solina String machine sample.

I also think the tranny organs are better on the SK1, though they are not as tweakable as they are on the Nord.

Subject: Re: [CWSG] SK-1 or Electro 3?

I have the SK1 and E3, and it's important to remember that the Electro 3
has the Hammond organ model from the Nord C1.  I have a C2 with the newest
organ model from the C2D, and the Nord organ models have come a long way
since the C1.  That said, the SK1 is certainly on the level of the C2D,
and, IMHO, better than the Electro 3.  So, as far as organ goes, I'd say
the SK1 is the better choice.  On the other hand, the Clavia piano library
is truly amazing, while I don't especially like any of the pianos in the
SK1 - the Wurlitzer may be the best of the lot, but the E3 has much better
sounding pianos.  The E3 with the 73 note keyboard is also much nicer than
the SK1's 61 keys for piano.  So, the E3 has excellent pianos and a good
organs and the SK1 has excellent organs and fair to good pianos.
