that auger/driscoll/monkees clip was circa the 60's. if you read some of the
comments on the youtube page some watcher was appalled at the concept of the
clip.

along with being purveyors of music and instruments, an artist could surmise
that art is one thing, its affect on the viewer/listener is the other side
of that same coin, and the instruments used are part and parcel. tongue in
cheek is key.

i remember the 60's hoopla about the monkees and their all-of-a-sudden rise
to prominence, that they couldn't write or play their own instruments, and
yes there was a gaggle of industry support behind it. this coming off of
years of other 60's heavy weights who wrote, and performed their own. i too
liked ( and still do) the songs, lyrics and the sounds. watched the weekly
monkees episodes. my brother met up with actor davy jones in tokyo years ago
as they were both guests of some japanese artist convention and over the
years they kept in touch, wrote to each other, (pre-net) both of them gone
now.

on the lighter side, i still get a kick out of auger more so today, had all
his albums in o-express, even helped him get a gig in san diego, a friend of
mine was the producer. auger's "real compared to what" is/was something to
behold.

pleasant valley sunday, And Mr. Green he's so serene

He's got a TV in every room.

heavy lyrics man!

and props norm for the effort you and your group put recreating those well
crafted songs.
