Subject:'HOAX' Hammond clone with 9 virtual contacts
A discussion on the Mojo list about keyclick went a bit OT, but the HOAX
engine was briefly discussed.
BAS Systems produce a modified version of HOAX that is compatible with an
optical scanning keyboard (I believe it is Fatar with an additional sensor
board) that is able to do progressive key depression and therefore simulate
the 9 individual contacts of the real thing.
I was under the impression they only produced components - ie the manuals
and FPGA PCB, scanners etc (parts for a 2 manual 2x9 drawbar clone
estimated from website prices at around €1700) - but I see they have a
single manual organ ala VK8 for €2000 assembled and a full console with
pedals for €5000

Has anyone tried HOAX? It sounds pretty good on the audio demos, and can be
retrofitted to older clones (replacing the original sound engine and
bypassing midi) or used in this way to supposedly give really authentic
triggering.
Cheers
