I got two of the EV's, used both maybe 2 times, usually I just run with one. I have the SK going right in for extra voices, that channel is at about 12 o clock, then I have an adaptor cable from the leslie out to a vent, then that into the other channel on the EV, that one's at maybe 2 o clock. Both buttons are out on the vent. There's a total volume knob at the top, that goes up to +10 DB, I usually run it at 0 db for jams, and am back pretty hard on the volume pedal. One jam got real loud and I got it up to +4 once. For my blues band gigs, it's usually at -2 to -4 for a resturaunt gig, 0 for a club gig, again, this all using just one speaker. Once we did an outdoor gig, open field, I had them both there, panned hard, one on either side of the stage all the way back (just keys so no feedback) and the drummer complained that it was way too loud being between them. They were each 10 foot to his right or left, and about 2 foot behind his head, so they weren't even pointed at him. So I hope that answers the gain question OK. For organ I actually was prepared to buy one QSC 12 but when I went the guy told me to listen to these and they sounded warmer, not as honky on the hammond. I also did a few rehearsals with the VR09, right in and it was about the same volume wise.
