James,

I'm certain about those two products. Like other keyboard
manufacturers, Korg may use different components for different product
lines. But if the keybed I repaired -- I thought it was an X5, might
have been an M-series -- was actually a Yamaha component, then either
Yamaha or Fatar is copying the other: the molding marks on the plastic
keys were the same, the springs were identical, and the switch/diode
PCBs were made in the same factory.

BTW, Yamaha doesn't own Korg; they have (had?) a 10% equity stake.
