Yes Apple are dearer pound for pound than equivalent spec laptops running Windows. Refurb units can offer a lower cost entry point. There are also options to run OSX on selected laptops.

Apple have announced that they do not intend releasing touch screen laptops or desktops.

If you add up the cost of a Win PC, plus host software, plus VST's equal to those that are available at no extra cost with MainStage ($30) you will easily match the cost of a MacBookPro or Air.

But if you only want to run VB3 a Windows laptop with Cantabile light is all you need.

Want splits, layers and multiple VST's including synths, AP's, EP's? MainStage is the best solution.

Cheers
