In case any one is interested, it's possible that the organ kit was a Devtronix. When I first read your description of a theater organ kit, I first thought of Schober, but they only sold divider organ kits. Devtronix could be built either divider or individual oscillator, and I suppose you could have as many oscillators as you could afford, had room for, or had the time to build.

And the 70s time frame would be about right for Devtronix, now long out of business.
