For this kind of music absolutely, for jazz/blues stuff i would *probably* go for the 2.x (I'm running the latest version at this time). you just can't get that sound with VB3 2, is not flexible enough ("yet", I hope). for example the cabinet settings are *much* simplified and the crosstalk and keyclick minimum levels are too high for my taste. Don't get me wrong, I *like* crosstalk and keyclick on some songs but turn them down on others…For example on the album you can hear a lot of keyclick on Pandora's Box. With crosstalk not being adjustable on the flight on VB3 1.4 I don't change that at all but I probably would if it were.

On the other hand VB3 2 has that nice "paste" that no other clone has, including VB3 1 and the competition and for jazzy playing is really the closest thing to a real B3 I've ever heard. I hope someday to see what i'm missing from 1.x incorporated into the new version.

From the functional point of view I also appreciate the possibility of using both an hand witch and a foot pedal to control the Leslie, on VB3 2 you have to chose wich one to use (or build your own hardware device).

Quite simply a stereo jack from the computer into the board, with Logic recording it onto two separate tracks, nothing special.

Thanks,

Jack

First can you explain one thing for me.. you say "the Hammond parts were played using VB3 1.4" but then you say "mostly on a Mojo".. does this mean you're using the Mojo or using VB3 1.4 or a combination of the two, or are you using the Mojo as a controller to play VB3 1.4.. I'm confused...
