Subject:Re: OT: Numa Compact Piano

As for the weighted action I really don't mind since the Motif XF(S) 6 & 7 don't have weighted keys, as long as the NUMA keys have sensitivity that will do it. I also have a Kurweill PC2X that has very good weighted keys but I only use it at home, never on the road except for studio recording..

What I wanted to ask you is if with one of the NUMA Midi modes I can switch sounds, lets say play piano on the Numa and Numa organ sounds on the Motif ? That would be a rare case but I just want to know if it possible ?

Humberto,

The only problem I see with this is playing piano on the Numa action.
It's very good but it is not the same as a weighted hammer action. If
you're OK with that for piano then you should be fine. Be aware that
there are three modes for the Numa Organ. Mode one is organ only, 61
notes play and the reverse keys are for presets. Mode two is the whole
73 note keyboard is available to play external sounds through MIDI, but
no internal organ. Mode three is internal and external sounds layered,
but you are limited to 61 notes in that mode. I thought it was a little
odd at first but I'm starting to use these options quite a bit. When in
mode one, nothing gets transmitted over MIDI ( no expression, hold, or
note data ). I hope this helps.
