I agree I think the Viscount DB3 sounds awful!!!  Clearly it'slack of success was a direct result of it's awful sound.

As they always say, your mileage may vary, but I had one for a couple of weeks around the time they first came out & couldn't wait to send it back. Unless they have significantly updated it in the last few years almost everything out these days will sound much better. Then again, one person's terrible is another person's great so you would have to try to audition one to really see - just make sure they have a generous return policy.
