Can't check right now but if it's a new keyboard you're probably right.

Perhaps you can use a simple midi interface/cable instead of
connecting it directly to the mac via USB? Should be more than ok to
use as a controller and if you don't have an interface already today
you can find a midi-USB cable at 10 euros or so.
