Subject:Re: Numa Organ vs XK1

I don't doubt the XK3c is the best portable or one of the best, but the XK1 I just don't think is that good, I haven't heard a single youtube video where the XK1 impress me.  How would you guys rank the different single keyboard portable organs from 1 - 5  pick five just don't include the Mojo.

Hoo boy. It sounds like deja vu all over again. but...

I can't speak for the XK1, but I do think the Numa sounds far closer to (to my ears) the brighter and 'sterile' sound of the Electro 2 than to (to my ears) the warmer and darker and more 'echoey' sound of my XK3C. Of course, Numa fans will rightfully disagree.

It is true, however, that you do have greater control over 'programming' the tone wheels. The 'stock' tonewheels on my XK3C were very nice, but after downloading several different custom tonewheel sets programmed by XK3C owners I found that the (dare I say it) 'mojo' of the XK3C improved immeasurably. Still, neither axe compares to a VB3-equipped system, whether it's an all-in-one unit like the Mojo or running two manuals through VB3 on a PC.
