I use an SV1 in my live right along with my CX-3 and no, I am not endorsed by Korg. I tend to play really hard, and the Rh3 key bed seems to take my abuse so far. I do use the SV1 for Piano and Electric Piano and Clav sounds. I did put the SV1 organs through the Ventilator, and that did improve the sounds tremendously however, the lack of drawbars is a bit of a set back. I agree with you in regards to the splits, you should be able to just program it. I am hopeful that another update will happen to the keyboard, but with them pushing the Kronos and now the new Krome, I feel that the SV1 will no longer have any more support!
I really like my setup however, and feel that the piano, clav and rhodes and wurlies are very very good and I compared them to the Nord!
